Becca x Jaclyn Hill | Champagne Pop | Review

It's finally time. Can we all just have a moment to take this in before we get started... ok. It seems like years I've been waiting to get my hands on this highlighter and now the coveted collaboration between Becca and Jaclyn Hill is finally available in the UK at Space NK. I can't tell you the amount of times I've put this (among other items) in a Sephora basket and been desperate to make a purchase, albeit slightly wary of the custom and shipping charges. But no more! I pre-ordered this as soon as it became available and let me tell you, it was wroth the wait. The hype is real with this one.

First, let's talk packaging. The cardboard box is the only thing that really differs this from the other highlights Becca do. It's pretty, with bubbles debossed into it, I assume to go along the Champagne theme. You also get a little description of the collaboration on the back but nothing too exciting. The compact itself is no different to their other Shimmering Skin Perfector's but I personally really like the combination of the matte black and gun metal finish. It feels quite industrial but it works. The only issue I had was trying to get into the product, it took me a good minute or so to open but I guess the positive is, you know this isn't opening on your handbag. You also get a sizeable mirror in the top, always a bonus!

Having never tried any of the other Becca highlighters, I can't say much for this in terms of how the formula compares. All I can say, is that it's perfect. This is exactly how highlighters should be. It's a super smooth, buttery soft texture that leaves an intense champagne highlight across the cheekbones without the need for any chunky glitter. For me this is the closest anything has come to Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm in terms of intensity and formula, in fact the colour is very similar, just a touch more gold. Just a quick tap with my Zoeva Luxe Highlight brush is enough to bring a gorgeous glow to the places I want it. Too much of a heavy hand with this could result in a seriously ott shine, a light hand is definitely needed. For a really gorgeous finish I've been running this across my cheekbones, cupids bow, chin and forehead, to accentuate the areas I want to bring forward. I just don't know how much more I can say about this other than you need to go try it out or at least head to a Space NK and swatch it.

Have you tried Champagne Pop yet?
